$ The people of Hell 26:94-104

26:94 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse

# فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ 94

26:95 and the hosts of iblis all together.

# وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ 95

26:96 And they will say while they dispute with one another,

# قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ 96

26:97 ‘By Allah, we were certainly in clear error,

# تَاللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلالٍ مُّبِينٍ 97

26:98 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds.

# إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 98

26:99 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray.

# وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلاَّ المُجْرِمُونَ 99

26:100 We have no intercessors now,

# فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَافِعِينَ 100

26:101 no caring friend.

# وَلاَ صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ 101

26:102 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers.’

# فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ المُؤْمِنِينَ 102

26:103 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe.

# إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 103

26:104 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

# وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ العَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ 104

 

|@ The story of Prophet Noah 26:105-122

26:105 The nation of Noah, belied their Messengers.

# كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ المُرْسَلِينَ 105

26:106 when Noah, their brother, said to them, ‘Will you not be cautious?

# إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوَهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ 106

26:107 I am for you an honest Messenger,

# إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ 107

26:108 so fear Allah, and obey me.

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 108

26:109 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds.

# وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 109

26:110 So fear Allah and obey me.’

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 110

 

$ The council of Noah’s nation belittle Noah and his followers 26:111-115

26:111 They replied, ‘Are we to believe you whom the lowliest follow?’

# قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الأَرْذَلُونَ 111

26:112 He said, ‘I have no knowledge of what they have done.

# قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِي بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 112

26:113 Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware.

# إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّي لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ 113

26:114 I will not drive away the believers.

# وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ المُؤْمِنِينَ 114

26:115 I am only a clear warner.’

# إِنْ أَنَا إِلاَّ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ 115

 

$ Noah asks Allah to save him and the believers from his nation 26:116-122

26:116 ‘Noah,’ they replied, ‘if you do not desist you shall be of those stoned.’

# قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا نُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ المَرْجُومِينَ 116

26:117 He said, ‘My Lord, my nation have belied me.

# قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ 117

26:118 So open between me and them an opening, and save me and the believers who are with me.’

# فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحاً وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ المُؤْمِنِينَ 118

26:119 We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship,

# فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ فِي الفُلْكِ المَشْحُونِ 119

26:120 afterwards, We drowned the rest.

# ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ البَاقِينَ 120

26:121 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe.

# إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 121

26:122 Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

# وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ العَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ 122

 

|@ The story of Prophet Hood and the contempt of the nation of Aad 26:123-140

26:123 (The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers.

# كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ المُرْسَلِينَ 1

26:124 When their brother Hood said to them, ‘Will you not be cautious?

# إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْأَخُوَهُمْ هُودٌ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ 124

26:125 I am for you an honest Messenger.

# إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ 125

26:126 Fear Allah and obey me.

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 126

26:127 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds.

# وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 127

 

$ The people of Aad abuse the blessings of Allah and become tyrants 26:128-140

26:128 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves!

# أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ 128

26:129 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever!

# وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ 129

26:130 When you assault, you assault like tyrants.

# وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ 130

26:131 So fear Allah, and obey me.

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 131

26:132 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know.

# وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ 132

26:133 He has given you flocks and sons,

# أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ 133

26:134 gardens and fountains.

# وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ 134

26:135 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day.’

# إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ 135

26:136 They replied, ‘It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers.

# قَالُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الوَاعِظِينَ 136

26:137 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients,

# إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ خُلُقُ الأَوَّلِينَ 137

26:138 and we shall never be punished.’

# وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ 138

26:139 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe.

# فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 139

26:140 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

# وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ العَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ 140

 

|@ The story of Prophet Salih and the nation of Thamood 26:141-159

26:141 Thamood, belied their Messengers.

# كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ المُرْسَلِينَ 141

26:142 Their brother Salih said to them, ‘Will you not be cautious?

# إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوَهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ 142

26:143 I am for you an honest Messenger.

# إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ 143

26:144 So fear Allah, and obey me.

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 144

26:145 For this I ask of you no wage; my wage falls only upon the Lord of the Worlds.

# وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 145

26:146 Will you be left secure in this,

# أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ 146

26:147 amidst gardens and fountains,

# فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ 147

26:148 sown fields and palm trees, with slender spathes.

# وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ 148

26:149 Will you still hew your dwellings in the mountains?

# وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الجِبَالِ بُيُوتاً فَارِهِينَ 149

26:150 So fear Allah and obey me.

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 150

 

$ Salih warns his nation not to obey the wasteful or the corrupt 26:151-154

26:151 Do not obey the order of the wasteful,

# وَلاَ تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ المُسْرِفِينَ 151

26:152 who corrupt in the earth, and do not reform.’

# الَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ يُصْلِحُونَ 152

26:153 They replied, ‘Surely, you are one of those bewitched.

# قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مِنَ المُسَحَّرِينَ 153

26:154 You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful.’

# مَا أَنْتَ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِآيَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ 154

 

$ Salih is given the she-camel of Allah as a sign, and with it he tells his nation to fear Allah and not to harm her 26:155-159

26:155 He said, ‘Here is a she-camel. She shall have her share of water as you have yours on an appointed day.

# قَالَ هَذِهِ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ 155

26:156 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you.’

# وَلاَ تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ 156

26:157 Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful,

# فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ 157

26:158 and the punishment seized them. Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe.

# فَأَخَذَهُمُ العَذَابُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 158

26:159 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

# وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ العَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ 159

 

|@ The story of Prophet Lot and his nation 26:160-175

26:160 Lot’s nation, belied their Messengers.

# كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ المُرْسَلِينَ 160

26:161 When their brother Lot said to them, ‘Will you not be cautious?

# إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوَهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ 161

26:162 I am for you an honest Messenger.

# إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ 162

26:163 So fear Allah, and obey me.

# فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 163

26:164 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds.

# وَمَا أَسَأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 164

Our Lord! Forgive us our sins as well as those of our brethren who proceeded us in faith and let not our hearts entertain any unworthy thoughts or feelings against [any of] those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness and Most Merciful (59:10)
