$ Dishonest trading 83:1-17
83:1 Woe to the diminishers,
# وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ 1

83:2 who, when people measure for them, take full measure,
# الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ 2
83:3 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce!
# وَإِذَا كَالُوَهُمْ أَو وَزَنُوَهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ 3
83:4 Do they not think that they will be resurrected
# أَلاَ يَظُنُّ أُوْلَئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ 4
83:5 for a great Day,
# لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ 5
83:6 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds?
# يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 6
83:7 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen.
# كَلاَّ إِنَّ كِتَابَ الفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ 7
83:8 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is!
# وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ 8
83:9 (It is) a marked Book.
# كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ 9
83:10 Woe on that Day to those who belied it,

# وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ 10
83:11 who belied the Day of Recompense!
# الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ 11
83:12 None belies it except every guilty sinner.
# وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلاَّ كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ 12
83:13 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, ‘Fictitious tales of the ancients!’
# إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ 13
83:14 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts.
# كَلاَّ بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ 14
83:15 No, indeed on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord.

# كَلاَّ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ 15
83:16 Then they shall roast in Hell,
# ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا الجَحِيمِ 16
83:17 and it will be said to them, ‘This is that which you belied!’
# ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ 17
|@ The reward of the People of Paradise 83:18-28
83:18 But, the Book of the righteous is in the ‘Illiyoon.
# كَلاَّ إِنَّ كِتَابَ الأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ 18
83:19 What could let you know what the ‘Illiyoon is!
# وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ 19
83:20 (It is) a marked Book,
# كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ 20
83:21 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah).
# يَشْهَدُهُ المُقَرَّبُونَ 21
83:22 The righteous shall indeed be blissful,
# إِنَّ الأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ 22
83:23 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze,
# عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ 23
83:24 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss.
# تَعْرِفُ فِي وَجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ 24
83:25 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed,
# يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ 25
83:26 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete;
# خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ المُتَنَافِسُونَ 26
83:27 and its mixture is Tasneem,
# وَمِزَاجُهُ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ 27
83:28 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink.
# عَيْناً يَشْرَبُ بِهَا المُقَرَّبُونَ 28
|@ Those who mock believers because they worship Allah alone 83:29-36
83:29 The sinners laughed at the believers
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ 29
83:30 and winked at one another as they passed them by.
# وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ 30
83:31 When they returned to their people they returned jesting;
# وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَى أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ 31
83:32 and when they saw them said, ‘These are they who are astray!’
# وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَؤُلاءِ لَضَالُّونَ 32
83:33 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians.
# وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ 33
83:34 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers
# فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ 34
83:35 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them).
# عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ 35
83:36 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did?
# هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ 36
|@AL INSHIQAAQ 84 The Rending – Al-‘Inshiqaq
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
$ The Day believers are given their book of deeds and meet Allah 84:1-9
84:1 When the sky is torn apart,
# إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ 1
84:2 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do;
# وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ 2
84:3 when the earth is stretched out
# وَإِذَا الأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ 3
84:4 and spews out all that is within and voids itself,
# وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ 4
84:5 obeying its Lord, as it must do!
# وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ 5
84:6 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him.
# يَا أَيُّهَا الإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحاً فَمُلاقِيهِ 6
84:7 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand
# فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ 7
84:8 shall have an easy reckoning
# فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَاباً يَسِيراً 8
84:9 and will return rejoicing to his family.
# وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُوراً 9
|@ The Day the unbelievers are given their book of deeds 84:10-25
84:10 But he who is given his book from behind his back
# وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ 10
84:11 shall call for destruction
# فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُوراً 11
84:12 and roast at the Blaze.
# وَيَصْلَى سَعِيراً 12
84:13 Once, he lived joyfully among his family
# إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُوراً 13
84:14 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord).
# إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ 14
84:15 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him.
# بَلَى إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيراً 15
84:16 I swear by the twilight;
# فَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ 16
84:17 by the night and all that it envelops;
# وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ 17
84:18 by the moon, in its fullness
# وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ 18
84:19 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage.
# لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقاً عَن طَبَقٍ 19
84:20 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe
# فَمَا لَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ 20
84:21 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate!
# وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ القُرْآنُ لاَ يَسْجُدُونَ 21
84:22 No, the unbelievers only belie,
# بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ 22
84:23 and Allah knows very well what they gather.
# وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ 23
84:24 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment,
# فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ 24
84:25 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense.
# إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ 25
|@AL BURUUJ 85 The Constellations – Al-Burooj
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
$ Believers who were persecuted because they said Allah is One and has neither a partner nor an associate 85:1-10
85:1 By the heaven of the constellations!
# وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ البُرُوجِ 1
85:2 By the Promised Day!
# وَالْيَوْمِ المَوْعُودِ 2
85:3 By the witness and the witnessed!
# وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ 3
85:4 The companions of the pit were killed
# قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الأُخْدُودِ 4
85:5 the fire with its fuel,
# النَّارِ ذَاتِ الوَقُودِ 5
85:6 when they were seated around it
# إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ 6
85:7 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers
# وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ 7
85:8 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised,
# وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ العَزِيزِ الحَمِيدِ 8
85:9 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things.
# الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ 9
85:10 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا المُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الحَرِيقِ 10
|@The great victory of winning Paradise 85:11-22
85:11 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory!
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ ذَلِكَ الفَوْزُ الكَبِيرُ 11
85:12 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe.
# إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ 12
85:13 It is He who originates and repeats.
# إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ 13
85:14 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving.
# وَهُوَ الغَفُورُ الوَدُودُ 14
85:15 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted.
# ذُو العَرْشِ المَجِيدُ 15
85:16 The Doer of whatever He wants.
# فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ 16
85:17 Has it come to you the story of the hosts
# هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الجُنُودِ 17
85:18 of Pharaoh and of Thamood?
# فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ 18
85:19 Yet the unbelievers still belie,
# بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ 19
85:20 Allah encompasses them all from behind.
# وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ 20
85:21 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran,
# بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ 21
85:22 in a Guarded Tablet.
# فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ 22
|@AT TAARIQ 86 The Nightly Comer – At-Tariq
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
$ Death is not the end, Allah is Able to resurrect us as easily as He created us. He only has to say “Be” and it is. 86:1-10
86:1 By the sky, and by the nightly comer!
# وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ 1
86:2 What could let you know what the nightly comer is!
# وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ 2
86:3 (It is) the piercing star.
# النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ 3
86:4 For every soul there is a watcher.
# إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ 4
86:5 Let the human reflect of what he is created.
# فَلْيَنظُرِ الإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ 5
86:6 He was created from ejaculated water
# خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ 6
86:7 that issues from between the loins and the ribs.
# يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ 7
86:8 Surely, He is Able to bring him back,
# إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ 8
86:9 on the Day when consciences are examined,
# يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ 9
86:10 when he (human) will be helpless, with no supporter.
# فَمَا لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلاَ نَاصِرٍ 10
|@The Koran the Decisive Word of Allah 86:11-17
86:11 By the sky with its returning rain,
# وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ 11
86:12 and by the earth bursting with vegetation;
# وَالأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ 12
86:13 this is indeed a Decisive Word,
# إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ 13
86:14 it is not a jest.
# وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ 14
86:15 They are cunningly devising,
# إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْداً 15
86:16 and I am cunningly devising.
# وَأَكِيدُ كَيْداً 16
86:17 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while.
# فَمَهِّلِ الكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْداً 17
|@AL A’LAA 87 The Highest – Al-‘A’la
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
$ Exalt Allah and don’t be blind to His signs that surround you 87:1-5
87:1 Exalt the Name of your Lord, the Highest,
# سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى 1
87:2 who has created and shaped,
# الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى 2
87:3 who has ordained and guided,
# وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى 3
87:4 who brings forth the pastures,
# وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ المَرْعَى 4
87:5 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble,
# فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى 5
|@ Those who avoid the reminders in the Koran 87:6-13
87:6 We shall make you recite so that you will not forget,
# سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلاَ تَنسَى 6
87:7 except what Allah wills, surely, He knows all that is (spoken) aloud and what is hidden.
# إِلاَّ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى 7
87:8 We shall ease you to the easy.
# وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى 8
87:9 Therefore remind, if the Reminder benefits,
# فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى 9
87:10 and he who fears shall remember,
# سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَى 10
87:11 but the most wretched shall avoid it,
# وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأَشْقَى 11
87:12 who will roast in the Great Fire,
# الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الكُبْرَى 12
87:13 in which he will neither die nor live therein.
# ثُمَّ لاَ يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلاَ يَحْيَى 13
|@ Those who remember the Name of Allah and pray to Him 87:14-15
87:14 Prosperous is he who purifies himself,
# قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى 14
87:15 and remembers the Name of his Lord, so he prays.
# وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى 15
|@ The Everlasting Life is better than the present 87:16-19
87:16 But you prefer the present life,
# بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا 16
87:17 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring.
# وَالآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى 17
87:18 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls,
# إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الأُولَى 18
87:19 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses.
# صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى 19
|@AL GHAASHIYAH 88 The Enveloper – Al-Ghashiyah
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
$ Description of Hell 88:1-7
88:1 Have you received the news of the Enveloper?
# هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الغَاشِيَةِ 1
88:2 On that Day faces shall be humbled,
# وَجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ 2
88:3 laboring, worn-out,
# عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ 3
88:4 roasting at a scorching Fire
# تَصْلَى نَاراً حَامِيَةً 4
88:5 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain,
# تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ 5
88:6 no food for them except thorny plants
# لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلاَّ مِن ضَرِيعٍ 6
88:7 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger.
# لاَ يُسْمِنُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي مِن جُوعٍ 7
|@ Description of Paradise 88:8-16
88:8 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful,
# وَجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ 8
88:9 well pleased with their striving,
# لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ 9
88:10 in a Garden on high,
# فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ 10
88:11 where they will hear no idle talk.
# لاَ تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لاغِيَةً 11
88:12 A gushing fountain shall be there
# فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ 12
88:13 and raised couches,
# فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ 13
88:14 and prepared goblets,
# وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ 14
88:15 and arranged cushions
# وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ 15
88:16 and outspread carpets.
# وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ 16
|@ The signs of Allah in the earth and heavens 88:17-20
88:17 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created?
# أَفَلاَ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ 17
88:18 And how the heaven was raised up,
# وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ 18
88:19 and how the mountains were firmly fixed?
# وَإِلَى الجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ 19
88:20 And how the earth was outstretched?
# وَإِلَى الأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ 20
|@ Those who turn their back and disbelieve 88:21-26
88:21 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder.
# فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ 21
88:22 You are not charged to oversee them.
# لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُسَيْطِرٍ 22
88:23 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve,
# إِلاَّ مَن تَوَلَّى وَكَفَرَ 23
88:24 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment.
# فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ العَذَابَ الأَكْبَرَ 24
88:25 Indeed, to Us they shall return,
# إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ 25
88:26 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning.
# ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ 26
