|@ Allah and His angels 37:149-166
37:149 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons?
# فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ البَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ البَنُونَ 149
37:150 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing?
# أَمْ خَلَقْنَا المَلائِكَةَ إِنَاثاً وَهُمْ شَاهِدُونَ 150
37:151 Then is it of their lying that they say,
# أَلاَ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ 151
37:152 ‘Allah has begotten?’ They are truly liars.
# وَلَدَ اللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ 152
37:153 Has He chosen daughters above sons?
# أَصْطَفَى البَنَاتِ عَلَى البَنِينَ 153
37:154 What is the matter with you? How do you judge?
# مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ 154
37:155 What, will you not remember?
# أَفَلاَ تَذَكَّرُونَ 155
37:156 Or, do you have a clear authority?
# أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَانٌ مُّبِينٌ 156
37:157 Bring your Book, if what you say is true!
# فَأْتُوا بِكِتَابِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ 157
37:158 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell).
# وَجَعَلُوا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الجِنَّةِ نَسَباً وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ الجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ 158
37:159 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe,
# سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ 159
37:160 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah.
# إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ المُخْلَصِينَ 160
37:161 But as for you, and that you worship,
# فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ 161
37:162 you shall tempt none against Him
# مَا أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَاتِنِينَ 162
37:163 except for he who shall roast in Hell.
# إِلاَّ مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ الجَحِيمِ 163
37:164 (Gabriel said to the Prophet), ‘Each of us has a known place.
# وَمَا مِنَّا إِلاَّ لَهُ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ 164
37:165 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks.
# وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الصَّافُّونَ 165
37:166 And we are they who exalt (Allah).’
# وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ المُسَبِّحُونَ 166
|@ Islam is the completion of the three Holy Religions and was, unlike the previous two, sent as a mercy and guidance for all peoples of the earth 27:167-182
37:167 What, would they then say,
# وَإِن كَانُوا لَيَقُولُونَ 167
37:168 ‘If only we had a reminder from the ancients,
# لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْراً مِّنَ الأَوَّلِينَ 168
37:169 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah.’
# لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ المُخْلَصِينَ 169
37:170 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know!
# فَكَفَرُوا بِهِ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ 170
37:171 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers,
# وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا المُرْسَلِينَ 171
37:172 that they shall receive Our help
# إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ المَنصُورُونَ 172
37:173 and Our armies shall be the victors.
# وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ الغَالِبُونَ 173
37:174 So turn (away) from them for a while.
# فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى حِينٍ 174
37:175 See them and soon they shall see.
# وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ 175
37:176 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment?
# أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ 176
37:177 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned.
# فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ المُنذَرِينَ 177
37:178 So turn (away) from them for a while,
# وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى حِينٍ 178
37:179 and see, soon they shall see!
# وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ 179
37:180 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe!
# سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ العِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ 180
37:181 Peace be on the Messengers.
# وَسَلامٌ عَلَى المُرْسَلِينَ 181
37:182 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
# وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 182
|@SAAD 38 Saad – Saad
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
38:1 Saad, by the Holy Reading (the Koran) of the Remembrance.
# ص وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ 1
|@ The rejection of Islam by many of the people of Mecca and Medina 38:2-10
38:2 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division.
# بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ 2
38:3 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called, ‘The time is neither of escape, nor safety.’
# كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَ لاَ تَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ 3
38:4 They marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say, ‘This is a lying sorcerer.
# وَعَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَقَالَ الكَافِرُونَ هَذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ 4
38:5 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing.’
# أَجَعَلَ الآلِهَةَ إِلَهاً وَاحِداً إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ 5
38:6 Their assembly left (saying), ‘Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired.
# وَانطَلَقَ المَلأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ 6
38:7 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention.
# مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي المِلَّةِ الآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ اخْتِلاقٌ 7
38:8 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)?’ No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment.
# أَأُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِي بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ 8
38:9 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving?
# أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ العَزِيزِ الوَهَّابِ 9
38:10 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means!
# أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الأَسْبَابِ 10
|@ Nations that belied their prophets 38:11-16
38:11 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates.
# جُندٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِّنَ الأَحْزَابِ 11
38:12 Before them the nations of Noah, Aad and Pharaoh, and he of the tent-pegs belied,
# كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الأَوْتَادِ 12
38:13 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates.
# وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ أُوْلَئِكَ الأَحْزَابُ 13
38:14 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized.
# إِن كُلٌّ إِلاَّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ 14
38:15 These only wait for a single Shout for which there will be no delay.
# وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَؤُلاءِ إِلاَّ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ 15
38:16 They say, ‘Our Lord, hasten to us our share before the Day of Recompense.’
# وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الحِسَابِ 16
|@ The repentance and counsel of David 38:17-26
38:17 Bear patiently with what they say, and remember Our worshiper David, a man of might. He was ever turning in repentance.
# اصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الأَيْدِ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ 17
38:18 We subjected the mountains to exalt (Me) with him in the evening and at sunrise,
# إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الجِبَالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالإِشْرَاقِ 18
38:19 and the birds, too, gathered each obedient to him.
# وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً كُلٌّ لَّهُ أَوَّابٌ 19
38:20 We made his kingdom strong and gave him wisdom and decisive speech.
# وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الخِطَابِ 20
38:21 Has the news of the dispute reached you (Prophet Muhammad)? When they scaled the Sanctuary
# وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا المِحْرَابَ 21
38:22 they went to David whereupon he was afraid of them, but they said, ‘Do not be afraid, we are two who have a dispute, one of us has wronged the other. Judge between us justly, and do not transgress, and guide us to the Right Path.
# إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَى دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ قَالُوا لاَ تَخَفْ خَصْمَانِ بَغَى بَعْضُنَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلاَ تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَى سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ 22
38:23 This, my brother has ninety-nine ewes, but I have only one ewe (a female sheep). He said, “Give her into my keeping” and overcame me in the argument.’
# إِنَّ هَذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الخِطَابِ 23
38:24 He (David) replied, ‘He has without doubt wronged you in seeking to add your ewe to his sheep. Many inter-mixers wrong one another; except those who believe, and do good works, and they are few indeed.’ David realized that We had tried him and sought the forgiveness of his Lord and fell down, prostrate and repented.
# قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَى نِعَاجِهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيراً مِنَ الخُلَطَاءِ لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعاً وَأَنَابَ 24
38:25 So, We forgave him that, and he has a near place with Us and a fine return.
# فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُ ذَلِكَ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَى وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ 25
38:26 (We said), ‘David, We have made you a caliph in the earth. Judge with justice among people and do not yield to your own preference in case it should lead you from the Path of Allah. Surely, a terrible punishment awaits those who stray from the Path of Allah, because they forget the Day of Reckoning.’
# يَا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الأَرْضِ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعِ الهَوَى فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ 26
|@ The heavens and earth were not created by chance 38:27-28
38:27 It was not in falsehood that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. That is the thought of the unbelievers. But woe to the unbelievers because of the Fire!
# وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلاً ذَلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ 27
38:28 Are We to make those who believe and do good works the same as those who corrupt the earth? Are We to make the righteous as the wicked?
# أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ المُتَّقِينَ كَالْفُجَّارِ 28
|@ Stop for a minute and think 38:29
38:29 It (Koran) is a Blessed Book that We have sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad), so that those possessed with minds might ponder its verses and remember.
# كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُوا الأَلْبَابِ 29
|@ David, the excellent worshiper of Allah 38:30-33
38:30 We gave Solomon to David; and he was an excellent worshiper, he was penitent.
# وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ نِعْمَ العَبْدُ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ 30
38:31 When his dressage steeds were presented to him in the evening,
# إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الجِيَادُ 31
38:32 he said, ‘Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil.
# فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّى تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ 32
38:33 Bring them back to me!’ And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah).
# رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحاً بِالسُّوقِ وَالأَعْنَاقِ 33
|@ The gift of Allah to Prophet Solomon 38:34-40
38:34 Indeed, We tried Solomon and placed a body (of a child) upon his throne, then he repented.
# وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَى كُرْسِيِّهِ جَسَداًّ ثُمَّ أَنَابَ 34
38:35 He said, ‘Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver.’
# قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكاً لاَّ يَنْبَغِي لأَحَدٍ مِّنْ بَعْدِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الوَهَّابُ 35
38:36 So We subjected the wind to him, so that it ran softly by his command wherever he wished;
# فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ 36
38:37 and the satans, every builder and diver
# وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ 37
38:38 and others joined together by (iron) fetters.
# وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الأَصْفَادِ 38
38:39 ‘This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning.’
# هَذَا عَطَاؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ 39
38:40 And he has a place near to Us, and a fine return.
# وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَى وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ 40
|@ The mercy of Allah to Job when satan afflicted him with harm and pain 38:41-44
38:41 Also, remember Our worshiper Job. He called out to his Lord, (saying), ‘satan has afflicted me with harm and pain.’
# وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ 41
38:42 (We said), ‘Stamp your foot on the ground, here is cool water with which to wash and a drink.’
# ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ هَذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ 42
38:43 We restored to him to his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand.
# وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَى لأُوْلِي الأَلْبَابِ 43
38:44 (We said to him), ‘Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath.’ We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent.
# وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثاً فَاضْرِب بِّهِ وَلاَ تَحْنَثْ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِراً نِّعْمَ العَبْدُ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ 44
|@ Allah purified His prophets 38:45-48
38:45 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision.
# وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُوْلِي الأَيْدِي وَالأَبْصَارِ 45
38:46 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life.
# إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ 46
38:47 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent.
# وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ المُصْطَفَيْنَ الأَخْيَارِ 47
38:48 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and Thul-Kifl, they are among the good.
# وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الكِفْلِ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الأَخْيَارِ 48
|@ The people of Paradise 38:49-54
38:49 This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return,
# هَذَا ذِكْرٌ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ 49
38:50 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them,
# جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الأَبْوَابُ 50
38:51 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein.
# مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ 51
38:52 And with them will be maidens of equal age with modest gaze.
# وَعِندَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ 52
38:53 ‘This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense,
# هَذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الحِسَابِ 53
38:54 this is Our unending provision.’
# إِنَّ هَذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِن نَّفَادٍ 54
|@ The disputing of the people of Hell 38:55-64
38:55 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return.
# هَذَا وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ 55
38:56 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling.
# جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ المِهَادُ 56
38:57 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus,
# هَذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ 57
38:58 and other similar to it, joined together.
# وَآخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ 58
38:59 (We shall say to their leaders), ‘This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire.’
# هَذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ لاَ مَرْحَباًّ بِهِمْ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُواْ النَّارِ 59
38:60 But they will say, ‘No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place!’
# قَالُوا بَلْ أَنتُمْ لاَ مَرْحَباًّ بِكُمْ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا فَبِئْسَ القَرَارُ 60
38:61 They will say, ‘Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire!’
# قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَاباً ضِعْفاً فِي النَّارِ 61
38:62 And they will say, ‘Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here?
# وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لاَ نَرَى رِجَالاً كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الأَشْرَارِ 62
38:63 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?’
# أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِياًّ أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الأَبْصَارُ 63
38:64 Surely that is true, the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire
# إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ 64
|@ The Koran is a mighty message 38:65-70
38:65 Say, ‘I am only a warner. There is no god except Allah, the One, the Conqueror,
# قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنذِرٌ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ الوَاحِدُ القَهَّارُ 65
38:66 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving.’
# رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا العَزِيزُ الغَفَّارُ 66
38:67 Say, ‘This is a mighty message
# قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ 67
38:68 from which you turn away.
# أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ 68
38:69 I had no knowledge of the High Assembly’s dispute.
# مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ بِالْمَلأِ الأَعْلَى إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ 69
38:70 This alone is revealed to me, I am only a clear warner.’
# إِن يُوحَى إِلَيَّ إِلاَّ أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ 70
|@ satan’s pride banishes him from Paradise and he becomes the sworn enemy of mankind 38:71-85
38:71 When your Lord said to the angels, ‘I am creating a human from clay,
# إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَراً مِّن طِينٍ 71
38:72 after I have shaped him and breathed of My spirit (I created) into him, fall down prostrate before him.’
# فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ 72
38:73 So all the angels prostrated themselves
# فَسَجَدَ المَلائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ 73
38:74 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers.
# إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الكَافِرِينَ 74
38:75 He (Allah) said, ‘iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself towards that which I have created with My Hands? Have you become too proud, or are you among the grand?’
# قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ العَالِينَ 75
38:76 He (satan) replied, ‘I am better than he. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay.’
# قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ 76
38:77 ‘Begone! ‘ said He, ‘you are stoned’.
# قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ 77
38:78 ‘My curse shall rest on you until the Day of Recompense.’
# وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ 78
38:79 He (satan) replied, ‘Respite me my Lord till the Day of Resurrection.’
# قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ 79
38:80 He (Allah) said, ‘You are among those that are respited
# قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ المُنظَرِينَ 80
38:81 till the Day of the known time.’
# إِلَى يَوْمِ الوَقْتِ المَعْلُومِ 81
38:82 He (satan) said, ‘I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them
# قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ 82
38:83 except those among them who are Your sincere worshipers.’
# إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ المُخْلَصِينَ 83
38:84 He (Allah) said, ‘This is the truth, and I speak the truth,
# قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ 84
38:85 I shall certainly fill Gehenna (Hell) with you and every one of them that follows you.’
# لأَمْلأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ 85
|@ Prophet Muhammad fulfills the prophesy of Jesus who prophesied that Allah would send someone who did not speak from himself but only with the Words of Allah 38:86-88
38:86 Say (Prophet Muhammad), ‘For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves.
# قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ المُتَكَلِّفِينَ 86
38:87 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds,
# إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ 87
38:88 and after a while you shall know its news.’
# وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍ 88
