|@AS SAAFFAAT 37 The Alignment – As-Saffat
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
$ Allah bears witness that He is One 37:1-5
37:1 By the aligners (angels) aligning.
# وَالصَّافَّاتِ صَفاًّ 1
37:2 and the drivers driving,
# فَالزَّاجِرَاتِ زَجْراً 2
37:3 and those who recite the Remembrance
# فَالتَّالِيَاتِ ذِكْراً 3
37:4 surely, your God is One,
# إِنَّ إِلَهَكُمْ لَوَاحِدٌ 4
37:5 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts.
# رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ المَشَارِقِ 5
|@ The satans try to listen to the High Assembly but are chased away by a piercing flame 37:6-10
37:6 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets,
# إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ الكَوَاكِبِ 6
37:7 a protection against every rebel satan;
# وَحِفْظاً مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّارِدٍ 7
37:8 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side.
# لاَ يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى المَلأِ الأَعْلَى وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ 8
37:9 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment;
# دُحُوراً وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ 9
37:10 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame.
# إِلاَّ مَنْ خَطِفَ الخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ 10
|@ The blindness of the unbelievers to the power and might of Allah; the denial of the fact that it is just as easy for Allah to create us as it is for Him to resurrect us with His command “Be” and it becomes 37:11-18
37:11 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay.
# فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقاً أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَا إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُم مِّن طِينٍ لاَّزِبٍ 11
37:12 No, you marvel, while they scoff.
# بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ 12
37:13 When they are reminded, they do not remember.
# وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا لاَ يَذْكُرُونَ 13
37:14 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it
# وَإِذَا رَأَوْا آيَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ 14
37:15 and say, ‘This is nothing but clear sorcery!’
# وَقَالُوا إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ 15
37:16 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected.
# أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَاباً وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ 16
37:17 What, and our forefathers, the ancients!’
# أَوَ آبَاؤُنَا الأَوَّلُونَ 17
37:18 Say, ‘Yes, but worthless.’
# قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنْتُمْ دَاخِرُونَ 18
|@ Sorrow and anguish on the Day of Recompense 37:19-39
37:19 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching
# فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ 19
37:20 and they will say, ‘Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense.’
# وَقَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا هَذَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ 20
37:21 This is the Day of Decision which you belied.
# هَذَا يَوْمُ الفَصْلِ الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ 21
37:22 Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping,
# احْشُرُوا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَأَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ 22
37:23 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell!
# مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ فَاهْدُوَهُمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الجَحِيمِ 23
37:24 And halt them so that they may be questioned.
# وَقِفُوَهُمْ إِنَّهُم مَّسْئُولُونَ 24
37:25 ‘Why do you not help one another?
# مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَنَاصَرُونَ 25
37:26 No, today they will resign themselves in submission,
# بَلْ هُمُ اليَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ 26
37:27 and approach each other with questions,
# وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ 27
37:28 saying, ‘You used to come to us from the right hand.’
# قَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ اليَمِينِ 28
37:29 But they reply, ‘Rather, you were not believers.
# قَالُوا بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ 29
37:30 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation.
# وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْماً طَاغِينَ 30
37:31 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it,
# فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا لَذَائِقُونَ 31
37:32 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts.’
# فَأَغْوَيْنَاكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَاوِينَ 32
37:33 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment.
# فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي العَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ 33
37:34 As such We shall deal with the evildoers.
# إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ 34
37:35 For when it was said to them, ‘There is no god except Allah,’ they were always proud
# إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ 35
37:36 and said, ‘Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet?’
# وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوا آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍ 36
37:37 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers.
# بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ المُرْسَلِينَ 37
37:38 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment,
# إِنَّكُمْ لَذَائِقُوا العَذَابِ الأَلِيمِ 38
37:39 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing.
# وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلاَّ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 39
|@ The recipients of generosity in the Gardens of Delight 37:40-49
37:40 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah,
# إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ المُخْلَصِينَ 40
37:41 there is waiting for them a known provision;
# أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ 41
37:42 fruits. And they are recipients of generosity
# فَوَاكِهُ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ 42
37:43 in the Gardens of Delight,
# فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ 43
37:44 sitting face to face upon couches,
# عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ 44
37:45 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them
# يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ 45
37:46 white, a delight to the drinkers,
# بَيْضَاءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشـَّارِبِينَ 46
37:47 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication.
# لاَ فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلاَ هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ 47
37:48 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances
# وَعِندَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ عِينٌ 48
37:49 as if they were hidden pearls.
# كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ 49
|@ The conversation between the people of Paradise and the people of Hell 37:50-57
37:50 They will go to one another asking each other questions.
# فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ 50
37:51 One of them will say, ‘I had a companion
# قَالَ قَائِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِينٌ 51
37:52 who would say, “Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)?
# يَقُولُ أَئِنَّكَ لَمِنَ المُصَدِّقِينَ 52
37:53 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?”‘
# أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَاباً وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ 53
37:54 And he will reply, ‘Are you looking down (into Hell)?’
# قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ 54
37:55 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell.
# فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَآهُ فِي سَوَاءِ الجَحِيمِ 55
37:56 ‘By Allah,’ he will say, ‘you almost destroyed me!
# قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ 56
37:57 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell).
# وَلَوْلا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ المُحْضَرِينَ 57
|@ Description of Hell 37:58-74
37:58 What then, shall we not die
# أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ 58
37:59 except our first death, and shall we not be punished?’
# إِلاَّ مَوْتَتَنَا الأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ 59
37:60 Indeed, this is the mighty victory,
# إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الفَوْزُ العَظِيمُ 60
37:61 and for the like of this let the workers work.
# لِمِثْلِ هَذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ العَامِلُونَ 61
37:62 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of Az-Zakkum!
# أَذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلاً أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ 62
37:63 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers.
# إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّالِمِينَ 63
37:64 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell;
# إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الجَحِيمِ 64
37:65 its spathes are like the heads of satans
# طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُءُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ 65
37:66 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies.
# فَإِنَّهُمْ لآكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا البُطُونَ 66
37:67 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water,
# ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْباً مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ 67
37:68 then their return is to Hell.
# ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لإِلَى الجَحِيمِ 68
37:69 They found their fathers in error,
# إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ 69
37:70 yet they run in their footsteps,
# فَهُمْ عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ 70
37:71 yet before them most of the ancients went astray,
# وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الأَوَّلِينَ 71
37:72 though We had sent among them warners.
# وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ 72
37:73 See then the end of those who were warned,
# فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ المُنذَرِينَ 73
37:74 except the sincere worshipers of Allah.
# إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ المُخْلَصِينَ 74
|@ Allah hears the call of Noah 37:75-82
37:75 Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer.
# وَلَقَدْ نَادَانَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ المُجِيبُونَ 75
37:76 We saved him and his people from the great distress,
# وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الكَرْبِ العَظِيمِ 76
37:77 and We made his offspring the survivors.
# وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُ هُمُ البَاقِينَ 77
37:78 And We let it remain upon him in the latter,
# وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ 78
37:79 ‘Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds.’
# سَلامٌ عَلَى نُوحٍ فِي العَالَمِينَ 79
37:80 As such We recompense the good doers,
# إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي المُحْسِنِينَ 80
37:81 he was one of Our believing worshipers.
# إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا المُؤْمِنِينَ 81
37:82 Afterwards We drowned the others.
# ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الآخَرِينَ 82
|@ Abraham challenges his people and demonstrates the worthlessness of their idolatry 37:83-99
37:83 Of his party was Abraham.
# وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِ لإِبْرَاهِيمَ 83
37:84 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart;
# إِذْ جَاءَ رَبَّهُ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ 84
37:85 and when he said to his father and to his nation, ‘What do you worship?
# إِذْ قَالَ لأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ 85
37:86 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah!
# أَئِفْكاً آلِهَةً دُونَ اللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ 86
37:87 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?’
# فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ العَالَمِينَ 87
37:88 He cast a glance at the stars
# فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي النُّجُومِ 88
37:89 and said, ‘Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)!’
# فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ 89
37:90 But they turned their backs and went away from him.
# فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ 90
37:91 Then he turned to their gods, and said, ‘What do you eat?
# فَرَاغَ إِلَى آلِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلاَ تَأْكُلُونَ 91
37:92 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak?’
# مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَنطِقُونَ 92
37:93 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand.
# فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْباً بِالْيَمِينِ 93
37:94 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste.
# فَأَقْبَلُوا إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ 94
37:95 He said, ‘Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved
# قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ 95
37:96 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do?’
# وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ 96
37:97 They replied, ‘Build for him a building and cast him into the fire.’
# قَالُوا ابْنُوا لَهُ بُنْيَاناً فَأَلْقُوهُ فِي الجَحِيمِ 97
37:98 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated.
# فَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْداً فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الأَسْفَلِينَ 98
37:99 He said, ‘I will go to my Lord; He will guide me.
# وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ 99
|@ The unwavering obedience of Abraham and Ishmael to Allah 37:100-111
37:100 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son).’
# رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ 100
37:101 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael).
# فَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِغُلامٍ حَلِيمٍ 101
37:102 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said, ‘My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion.’ He replied, ‘Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast.’
# فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي المَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَى قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ 102
37:103 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead,
# فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُ لِلْجَبِينِ 103
37:104 We called to him, saying, ‘O Abraham,
# وَنَادَيْنَاهُ أَن يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ 104
37:105 you have confirmed your vision.’ As such We recompense the good doers.
# قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي المُحْسِنِينَ 105
37:106 That was indeed a clear trial.
# إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ البَلاءُ المُبِينُ 106
37:107 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice,
# وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ 107
37:108 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations),
# وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ 108
37:109 ‘Peace be upon Abraham!’
# سَلامٌ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ 109
37:110 As such We recompense the good doers.
# كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي المُحْسِنِينَ 110
37:111 He was one of Our believing worshipers.
# إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا المُؤْمِنِينَ 111
|@ Isaac second son of Abraham and his descendants 37:112-113
37:112 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous,
# وَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِإِسْحَاقَ نَبِياًّ مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ 112
37:113 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some good doers, and others who clearly wronged themselves.
# وَبَارَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى إِسْحَاقَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِ مُبِينٌ 113
|@ Moses and Aaron were guided upon the Straight Path 37:114-122
37:114 We also favored Moses and Aaron
# وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ 114
37:115 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress.
# وَنَجَّيْنَاهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ الكَرْبِ العَظِيمِ 115
37:116 We helped them, and they became victorious,
# وَنَصَرْنَاهُمْ فَكَانُوا هُمُ الغَالِبِينَ 116
37:117 and We gave them the Clear Book,
# وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا الكِتَابَ المُسْتَبِينَ 117
37:118 and guided them upon the Straight Path.
# وَهَدَيْنَاهُمَا الصِّرَاطَ المُسْتَقِيمَ 118
37:119 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon on both of them in the latter (generations),
# وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِي الآخِرِينَ 119
37:120 ‘Peace be upon Moses and Aaron! ‘
# سَلامٌ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ 120
37:121 As such We recompense the good doers.
# إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي المُحْسِنِينَ 121
37:122 They were among Our believing worshipers.
# إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا المُؤْمِنِينَ 122
|@ Elias rebukes his people for their disbelief 37:123-132
37:123 And Elias (El Yaseen) was among the Messengers.
# وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ المُرْسَلِينَ 123
37:124 He asked his people, ‘Do you not fear (Allah)?
# إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ 124
37:125 Do you call on Ba’lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator,
# أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلاً وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ الخَالِقِينَ 125
37:126 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.’
# اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ آبَائِكُمُ الأَوَّلِينَ 126
37:127 But they belied him, so they will be among the arraigned (in Hell),
# فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ 127
37:128 except the sincere worshipers of Allah.
# إِلاَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ المُخْلَصِينَ 128
37:129 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations),
# وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الآخِرِينَ 129
37:130 ‘Peace be upon El Yaseen! ‘
# سَلامٌ عَلَى إِلْ يَاسِينَ 130
37:131 As such We recompense the good doers.
# إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي المُحْسِنِينَ 131
37:132 He was among Our believing worshipers.
# إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا المُؤْمِنِينَ 132
|@ Lot and his family are saved when his nation are destroyed 37:133-138
37:133 Lot, too, was among the Messengers.
# وَإِنَّ لُوطاً لَّمِنَ المُرْسَلِينَ 133
37:134 We saved him and all his kinsmen,
# إِذْ نَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ 134
37:135 except an old woman who lingered,
# إِلاَّ عَجُوزاً فِي الغَابِرِينَ 135
37:136 and We destroyed the others.
# ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الآخَرِينَ 136
37:137 You pass by them in the morning
# وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ 137
37:138 and at night, will you not understand?
# وَبِاللَّيْلِ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ 138
|@ Jonah and the whale 37:139-148
37:139 Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers.
# وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ المُرْسَلِينَ 139
37:140 He ran away to the laden ship,
# إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الفُلْكِ المَشْحُونِ 140
37:141 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast).
# فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ المُدْحَضِينَ 141
37:142 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy,
# فَالْتَقَمَهُ الحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ 142
37:143 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah),
# فَلَوْلاَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ المُسَبِّحِينَ 143
37:144 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected.
# لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْنِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ 144
37:145 But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill,
# فَنَبَذْنَاهُ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ 145
37:146 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him.
# وَأَنْبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ 146
37:147 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more,
# وَأَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَى مِائَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ 147
37:148 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile.
# فَآمَنُوا فَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ 148
